Gretchen Morrissey is a Taos, New Mexico-based illustrator, printmaker and pattern designer whose work celebrates the complexity and beauty of the natural world.  Gretchen studied and taught textile print design at Philadelphia University where she developed her signature style and love of print and dye processes. Gretchen seamlessly blends traditional and digital media, working in gouache, watercolors & graphite to create beautiful illustrations and patterns. Her keen eye for detail and color brings each subject to life, capturing bold forms and delicate intricacies.

 

Over the years, Gretchen has partnered with design houses across the globe spanning various industries including wallcovering, home decor, stationery, and fashion. Drawing life inspiration from sailing, skiing, trekking and global travels, the body of work reflects both technical expertise and a deep appreciation of cultural influences and nature’s artistry.
